Just got 100 new 30-40 cases from Midway and loaded them for fire-forming in my 31-40AI. 174gr Hornady .312 Interlocks and 45gr of H380. After fire-forming will reload them with 50gr of H380. About the same ballistics as a 30-06 with 180gr bullets.
Bear season is here and the un-fire formed load (which is pretty much a factory 30-40 Krag load) is just fine for bruins. Now, if I can find a bear...
