FWIW, most auto pistol makers these days don't make their own magazines, they buy them from specialist companies, some of them overseas. That can be good or bad, but basically they are the same makers who turn out the after market magazines many folks complain about.
I haven't bought a commercial 1911 magazine in years. I buy and use only WWII GI magazines, which were made to strict specifications and under rigid quality control.
