If someone tells you that you can't reload 270 with Unique, don't listen to them. They are just repeating something that they don't themselves understand.
The better question is, do you want to reload 270 with Unique? The velocity will be awfully low. Lots of us reload rifle cartridges with pistol powders (2400 and Green Dot myself) and generally use cast bullets but that doesn't mean jacketed won't work either. If you want something other than a light recoil and low velocity plinking load, you will want a more commonly used rifle powder.
