out to the survival specialists: Are there any other comparable rifles out, other than the well-known USAF models?

Or maybe a maker that offers a standalone lightweight polymer stock (with maybe a shortened forearm) to convert the common bolt action to something more suited for survival / backpacking duty? Something the like seems to be available for one-shot youth rifles, so why not for a bolt action...?
