In Indiana about 3 or 4 years ago a company required all people to open there cars for inspection, I don’t remember the reason. This was in the middle of the deer hunting season and many people had rifles in their cars/trucks.
Anyone found with a gun was fired on the spot since the company had a no gun policy on there premises. At the time it was thought that a company head was a bamby lover.
Indiana later passed a law permitting any legal owner to be protected against this kind of anti gun crap by the companies they work for.
As for caring, only government buildings, police stations, airports. That’s the only ones I know about. I have never seen a public building other than the above with a sign stating no guns.
You should check your state laws.
