About a year ago I owned an IJ D-day commemorative carbine and got rid of it. They are much better than Universal carbines and parts should interchange with GI parts. Probably the best quality carbine ever made IMA's model 888 carbine. they will shoot 2' groups at 100 meters and interchange with GI parts also. The .30 carbine is about on a par with the .357 mag. Lite recoil and plenty of firepower with the 30 rd clip. A 110 grain bullet (military load) leaves the bore at about 1900 fps and is a joy to shoot. I always condiered the carbine to be the first assault rifle. If you ever get rid of it I'm sure you will get another later on, its a keeper
