Once upon a time...
I went out with a friend and shot a variety of ammo...slugs, buckshot #0, buckshot #4, super fast FPS, slow, steel #6, etc.
Buckshot kicks. Hard. Some buckshot make slugs feel good. We did some firing (of week ammo) without shouldering.
It stunk. Based on some old posts in here about shotguns kicking up into shooters' teeth, I can't ever recommend pistol grip alone! IMHO that's what handguns are for
