I think if you compare the costs to create target quality ammo capable of tight groups at 1000 yds you'll find the 50 is more expensive. Sure there is surplus 50 available for plinking.
The 50 isn't legal here in CA so I didn't really have to make that decision.
Any reason why the remington 700P .338 LM wasn't considered? I just passed on a savage 110 for quite a bit less money and picked up the remington.
