Google it just as I have typed it, and then click on the 1st (top) website.
According to the site, your Rem. Model of 1917 was made in 1918. I have an Eddystone made the same year. Love the old beast! Mine was made into a BEAUTIFUL sporter, and she shoots "plum" to boot!).
