I have an 1862 that has had the barrel cut off, all it has is 2 1\2 inches from the front of the cylinder to the business end. I did not do this, I bought it like this. Makes a good belly gun due to it being .36 caliber but I am still looking for an original length barrel for it. I wish someone would make a cartridge conversion cylinder for it as they were converted back in the 1870's. I have a conversion cylinder for my 1849 baby dragoon in .32 S&W short which shoots good with it.
