It's slightly larger than the P239, but many people find it to be more ergonomic. I personally dislike the squared front of the P239's grip, but other than that it's pretty nice. I think the back end it s little ugly - wishing the beaver-tail came out a little more, but that's simply personal aesthetics.
You probably have a wider array of holsters available for the P239, so that's something to consider. Also, pre 1989 P6 models often require barrel re-crowning in order to reliably feed hollow point ammunition - another thing to consider.
