George, please fill me in on your Siamese Mauser .45-70 project, I've got a Siamese action that is sitting in a drawer waiting for the right smith to build it into a .45-70, but those guys are getting fewer and farther between. I had in mind a Mannlicher-stocked variant, with octagon barrel, browned, not blued, with one of those vintage brass scopes ala' Navy Arms, sort of a "what-if" turn-of the century .45-70 bolt rifle. I've already made up loads for it, with a 405gr cast flat-point bullet, bought a ton of new Remington Nickel brass, and there the project stalled...
