i have a 597 and i love it theyre very reliable .22's , i have shot 10/22's but not extensivly so i cant really compare it except there is a lot more stuff you can buy for a 10/22. but the 597 is a great gun for the price. the only problems i ever encountered was a couple F2F's with the factory mag.
