I would stick with a simple, non electrical, safe.

To bet my life on a $200 or so item which has a lot of moving parts, needs power, and has some known issues is not for me.

Years ago I had a bad cut on my index finger. Couldn't submit fingerprint cards till it healed up. I'm sure an inexpensive safe wouldn't have been able to read it either at that time.

The Knox Pistol safe is a quality option, built well, proven Simplex lock, and will hold 2 pistols. Not as cool as the bio option but it's going to work every time.
