Appleseed Rifleman's Marksmanship Clinic 7 (seven) in September!

Following a discussion some months ago, about what makes a rifleman.

There are 7 (seven) clinics scheduled for September for the Appleseed clinic.

Learn the essentials of accurately shooting a rifle: (Position integrity), Sight Alignment, Sight Picture, Breath Control /Natural Point of Aim, Hard focus on the Front Sight, Trigger Control, Follow Through

Learn how to use that "strap" for more than a carry handle, as a true sling (loop, hasty, hasty hasty).

Learn the positions of necessity for field work...Prone for long shots, sitting or kneeling for shots at intermediate distances over obstructions, and the "offhand" or standing for "quik shots".

Remember the history of our country. Continue the tradition of Marksmanship, as was demonstrated on April 19, 1775.

All (most) educational shooting will be on targets at 25 meters, so you won't have to walk so far to see what your "target is talking" to help teach you to improve. Some ranges have longer ranges to "test" your "Battle Sight Zero" and sight adjustments for trajectory of your various cartridges.

NOW, WITH AMMO SO EXPENSIVE, HOW CAN I AFFORD TO SHOOT 400 ROUNDS a DAY?

Use a .22!

We recommend the Ruger 10/22, as the controls are much like a Battle Rifle, but any rifle you got is usable. A ;.22 is cheap, and without recoil, you will accelerate your learning curve immensely. ANd after you have the basics down, you can zero your full caliber rifle at 25 meters, set a BSZ (Battle Sight Zero) and go off to the longer range for some "real distance" work.

If you are sight impaired, use glass. If you have younger eyes, iron sights are more durable than glass. But we WANT YOU here, no matter what you shoot!

(Removable mag fed arms are the 'easiest' for the Course of Fire, but even blind and tube magazines will be accomodated by local intructors, usually by reducing the round count per stage)

Go to AppleseedInfo.org for more info and registration.

I'll be in PA for the September 31. Hope to see ya there!
