No filler required. The SR4759 powder is very bulky and the 19.0 grs I use under a 147 FMJ is about a 75% loading density. Yes, it is just about like shooting a 22 mag. I let the Boy Scouts I train for reloading shoot this load out of my 03 Springfields. They don't get beat to death and they get to shoot a REAL WWII rifle. Both are a hoot!
