When I was a Deputy Sheriff, another Deputy carried a model S&W 29 with a 4" barrel. I never asked the Arrested Suspect after a felony stop of what he thought if the model 29 being pointed at him.
But we all thought it was a lot of of on the qualifying range when he would fire it. back in the early 70s it was bang, bang, bang, bang, boom! and big flash!
