Unless someone may come in after to correct me, I'll hold that this is a 15-2. A model 15 would have the external nut on the front of the barrel whereas the 15-2 has the recessed nut to retain the shroud. Model 14's go by the same characteristics, except that they are a service-type revolver and do not have the adjustable rear sight and the front sight is lower (and pinned to the shroud) to compensate for the different height. Shrouds are different due to this. You CAN use a model 15 shroud on a mod 14 if you replace the front sight with a lower one (available from EWK) but you cannot swap out a 14 sight on a 15. At least not without some serious POA/POI issues.
They are great shooters and I'm sure you'll love your Dan!
