It is a Remington Model 51, a fairly scarce auto pistol. They made about 65,000 from 1918 to 1926 in two calibers, .32 ACP and .380 ACP. In good condition, they are a sought-after collectible. The gun operates in a sort of delayed blowback that was designed by John Pedersen (of "Pedersen device" fame) not so much because it was good, but because he had to work around the patents of another John, Browning.

I strongly advise not trying to disassemble that gun without obtaining correct information on how to do it. One thing is that the grips are held on by a unique system that requires they be slid down to be freed; trying to pry them off will ALWAYS break them. (Browning had patented the idea of simply screwing on the grips.)

The pictures are not good enough to determine the condition. One in top condition will run close to $1000, $250 more if in the box with papers. Ones in average good condition run around $500.
