Glock 17 mag failure

I rarely unload mags after a trip to the range so I have a few ready to go. I found one Glock 17 mag that had been out of the mix and loaded for probably 8-10 years. It was an early model that had been around awhile, but it appears the pressure of the rounds against the side of the mag body caused the back of the mag to split right open like a zipper along the witness holes. I never saw that before so it kinda surprised me. I'm sure a metal mag wouldn't have done that...Just an FYI to maybe download the mags a few rounds if you're going to keep them stored loaded a long time.
