At $80-$100 in 'investment' per 30-round magazine, you will not be dropping these in the dirt to perform 'tactical-reloads' - at least, not for long.
The proper way to remove a mag from an MP5 is to grip the magazine with your off-hand, flap the lever and pull down while holding the lever in the forward position. This ensures positive control of the magazine and weapon at all times.
