Installed a Crimson Trace grip on my stainless Taurus 85. Good little shooter with the laser sighted in at 10 yards. Beyond that the parallax offset is too much and open sights are used. Do not recommend it as a range gun. After 30 rounds or so the little gun becomes a bit uncomfortable in the hand even with the slightly larger than original CT grips. On the other hand, my S&W 36 with original grips has a comfort limit of about 20 rounds.

The Taurus 85 has a sideplate retention screw at the top of the sideplate (in front of the hammer). I checked Taurus' website for a manufacture date but the serial number EC4XXXX is not listed. Does anyone have any information regarding the manufacture date?
