Just thought I'd throw my input in here, that my RIA 1911A1 has been great, I'd take it over a couple of my buddies Kimbers that I've shot. Although that might be saying more about Kimber than about RIA, I don't know. I've heard Springfield armory also makes a pretty good lower end 1911.
