Crime in NY is way down.
I was a NYC Court Officer from 1979 until 1999 and saw the trends.
Both Queens and The Bronx shut down their county jails due to lack of need and the city has bounced back from it's low in the mid 1970's---when I was a college student/part time cab driver.
I believe the report.
Gun control did not do this--it was agressive police work and cracking down on all criminals.
