Do a search here in this forum, aposter from Colorado,

had an article about elk hunting and rifles. VERY INFORMATIVE.

Basically, the article indicates that good 180 gr bullet are best.

Check to make sure the barrel is NOT rubbing the composite stock as that will give flyers.

I have a 7mmMag one and not happy with first shot on POA, second and third being high & right.

The stock is not readily acceptable for glass-bedding (per three gunsmiths) you may want to get a wood stock and wring the best accuracy out of it.
