He originally wanted it so he could carry more ammo,,,
But after a while he traded it off to someone for their M-1 Garand.
His story was that it was not a man stopper.
Don't get me wrong,,,
I loved owning and shooting my carbine,,,
But as a battle rifle I feel it was designed around a punk cartridge.
