SWFA is offering Zeiss Conquest with the Rapid Z-600 reticle for, $299 after mail in rebate. It will be $399 up front but you'll get $100 back in 8+ weeks I'd imagine. If you can swing the extra $100 up front it will get you a pretty good scope.

For $299 it will get you into the new VX2 3-9X40 or VX1 4-12X40. I feel the VX2 is the better deal but the 4-12 at $299 is better than the Redfield IMO. I just bought my daughter a new VX1 2-7X33 and I can't tell the difference between it and my VX-II 2-7X33 but both are a lot better than her 2-7X33 Redfield Revolution that she shoots on her .223 Rem. I have a 4-12X40 Redfield Revolution on my .204 Ruger Encore and it is a decent scope for what I paid for it $180 new, but now being less than $50 less than a Leupold VX1 I'd buy the Leupold.

$299 will get you into a 2.5-10X40 Monarch with mildot reticle, or 4.5-14X40 Coyote at SWFA, or $309 for the Buckmaster 4.5-14X40 SF. I wouldn't hesitate to put any of these on a rifle depending on if you could live with the mildot or varmint BDC reticles. I'd probably opt for them before the cheaper Prostaff but that is still a decent scope for under $300 and available in 4-12 power.
