IMO the best load for the .380 is BuffaloBores 100gr hardcast, at 1150 fps it delivers 294 ft-lbs of energy. Its the hardest hitting .380 ammo on the market.
The hardcast load will give you all the penetration of ball ammo, but since its lead it will deform on its way through causing more damage than ball ammo.
