Probably not rare as they've made thousands, but rare in this condition. Its a Smith & Wesson 3rd model Double Action .38 made in 1889. My dad gave it to me after cleaning out his safe. Its been in the family for years and it just sat in there on the back shelf for years. Its a beautiful gun, the craftsmanship they had back then just amazes me. I always wonder who originally carried it and how it was used in the early years, apparently not very much.
