The earliest H&R shotguns were the "Anson & Deeley" hammerless doubles of the early to mid 1880s. It is not known whether the parts were made in England and assembled here or made and assembled here, under license, or possibly a combination of both????? The next foray into shotgun making began in 1901 with the Model 1900 single shot, break action, heavy frame.
