+1 on M&P. Smith and Wesson really has it together right now. Putting out some fine pistols that are even making the Glock lovers go buy one and take a look. Also, I know you said American but Beretta puts out a fine 9mm. Most of the gun is "made" in Italy and I know there's a Beretta factory in Maryland where guns get fixed and assembled. So it's 33% American. Haha! Good Luck
