I second this. The PPS is the best subcompact single-stack gun on the market in my opinion. Amazingly low recoil, good trigger, and ridiculously reliable. Of all the other subcompacts on the market, including the Shield and XDs, it shoots the most like a full sized pistol. And I like the hinge-down mag release on a sub-compact; it makes it less likely that you'll accidentally hit the mag release while wearing it in a soft holster like a belly band or an ankle rig.
