DD, LMT, BCM, all make rifles equal to Colt.
The reason Colt lost the Contract for the M4 is price, Colt was charging $1300 for a M4A1(RAS, buis, sling, mags) Remington offered $678.50 per rifle.
Colt still owns to TDP though so Remington has to pay colt a 5% fee for every rifle they make and sell to the military.
Also since Colt still owns the TDP Remington can only use the TDP for military rifles they cannot use it on civilian rifles.
