As long as your heater is gas fired it's a great idea . If the heater were Kerosene fired you'd be putting impuritys on as quick as you were taking them off . You did a good looking job , but if that piece is going in and out of a holster with any regularity , it's going to wear off quickly . CeraCote or Cerama Cote are the most wear resistent bake on finishes .
