Prices for 16 gauges seem to suffer from a few issues:
* A misunderstanding of the nature and prices of the "Sweet 16", as not every 16 ga was a "Sweet 16".

* Many were the earlier and less desirable field grade with 2-9/16" chambers.

* Many are pre-war 16 ga with solid ribs or plain barrels, and often described as "Sweet 16"s in order to get more money for them.

Having said all that, I will say this. In this area, A5 values in general (and 16 ga and 20 ga in particular) are stuck at about $350-$450, a pristine example may go for $500, but rarely. I saw a pretty clean A5 with a spare barrel (12 ga with 2 ribbed factory barrels and soft case) at a local shop for $375. Some folks still try asking as much as they were drawing a decade ago ($650-$850) but those guns usually sit for a long time as that market has gone soft on us, the older generation that revered the Auto-5 has pretty much passed away. So long story short, it is hard to give a value for a 16 ga without some pretty good pictures, but in my area a ball-park value would be $400 +/- $50.
