If you can only have one--get a weapon light (I voted TLR 1s). Night sights do no good if you can't identify the threat. If you have non-illuminated sights and hit the switch on your TLR your sights are still usable because they'll be silhouetted.
The debate about weapon mounted vs handheld will continue to rage but you have to pick the one you're comfortable with. Weapon lights aren't lasers and to light up a doorway (for example) you don't need to point your gun at it. The TLR1 will illuminate the entire room as soon as you tap that switch.
FWIW--I have a handheld light next to my bed as well as handguns, a rifle, and a shotgun all with weapon mounted lights. I like options
