The Turks used Mosins? Did they buy them or just use captured Russian guns?

Anyway, I found that hot water and Simple Green gets most of the cosmoline off the metal. A spray can of brake cleaner gets the rest of it. Don't forget to dismantle the bolt to get all the cosmoline out of there.

Getting the cosmoline out of the wood is the tough part. I haven't found a good method or product for that yet.
