I can't help with your wishing to mount a scope but I can offer just a SMIDGE of help -- in reassuring you that your initial idea that going with a LER "scout" style forward scope sucks. Been down that road, wasn't at all happy with it and it's not a cheap venture for something you do NOT like.

You get the bonus of the rifle looking ridiculous as a side order.

So that's my help -- follow your instincts and avoid the "scout" scope.
