A Remington 700 ADL in the mid $400's sounds like a reasonable deal. Mine is 43 years old in .270 Winchester and still shoots MOP groups (minute of pig, it also shoots MOA groups). It's been reliable, safe and accurate for a long time. I have about 700 rounds through mine. The only down side I had was the blued finish rusting easily. I had the barrel and action hard-chromed so no more problems. If I had to buy a new one I would try to find one with a stainless barrel. Good luck.
