A Parkerized finish holds oil like a sponge. Polished blueing looks nice but that slick finish doesn't hold much oil. In the same environmental conditions, a well-oiled blued gun will rust faster than a well-oiled Parkerized gun.

If you live in arid or temperate conditions, the difference between the two is basically whichever you like the look of best. If your firearms will be used or stored in humid environments, however, Parkerization wins hands down as a protective finish.
