Look up the mauser extractor. The Mauser action is nice in that it can be more reliable since the way it controls the case with the extractor. It basically makes for a more reliable bolt action. You can't do things like "short stroke' on a mauser action.
I like my Ruger m77 it's rugged, well built, and way more accurate than I expected.

I'd go with whichever one has the faster twist to stabilize the heavy boat tailed bullets, but that's just me.
