Thats what I wound up doing. Both guns work just fine, Marlin mayby a bit more accurate, Ruger a little bit easier to load and a bunch easier to unload.

It's nice to have an extra mag for the Ruger versus pocketfull of ammo for the Marlin and drop them in the tube one by one.

If I had to pick a favorite I'd have to flip a coin.
