Other than a Glock, my current favorite is a Springfield 1911 Long Slide. It is a single stack, 6" barrel, stainless pistol that I picked up used for $900 on Gunbroker a few weeks back.

It is a real sweet shooter. I don't like the allen wrench guide rod arrangement that Springfield uses, but it's a minor annoyance.

I have a Sig P226, G34, XDm9 and several other pistols, but I have to say that the extra 1" on the barrel makes a real difference in the accuracy department. Not to mention that it is a real beauty.
