When my wife and I were planning a date for our wedding, she wanted it in October, to give us plenty of time to get everything organized and such.
I told her that was just a really bad idea...if she ever wanted me at home for our anniversary. Several hunting seasons start here in October, including duck, quail, deer, sometimes elk (if I can get a tag), and more.
September just wasn't much better with dove season the first half of the month, and the early trophy bull bow hunt for elk typically the last couple of weeks.
So naturally, she agreed to August.
