The 20-year-old victim called police around 12:40 a.m. Monday reporting an attempted burglary on the 13000 block of Mercury Drive in the Acres Green subdivision.

When police arrived they found the man who'd been shot. He was transported to a local hospital where he remains in stable condition. Two other roommates who lived at the home weren't hurt.

Investigators say the three suspects broke into the home through the garage.

The victim said they were wearing ski masks and dark clothes. When sheriff's deputies arrived, they searched the area with a canine but couldn't track down the men.

Another witness told investigators that they left the area in a dark colored sedan.

Officials have not said how much money was taken from the home.
