I like revolvers too,

The first thing is to decide what features you like.
Polymer or Steel.
Hammer or Striker.
Single action with a thumb safety or double action first shot or one of the compromise trigger systems like Glock or XD?

Then you can make a good decision.

Reliability is actually about the same for everything except the real cheapos.
They are all pretty reliable but all can malfunction sometimes, even revolvers.

Personally after 1911s and revolvers I prefer the CZ and M&P. The CZ is a great steel hammer fired DA/SA duty style gun. The M&P is lighter being poly, and has a decent trigger due to the thumb safety. They both shoot well.
