That would be a Victory model made in 1942 for the military.
The nickel is not original and pretty much destroys it's collector value as does the lanyard loop hole being plugged.
S&W's production during WWII was limited to supplying the Military.
That would be 1952. It should not be model marked.

If all it says is 59 then it is a standard 59. A 5906 would be stamped 5906 and so on.
