The 2.26" max dimension is listed to ensure the round will fit in the magazine.
It does not mean seat every bullet to that length.
Seat at the listed overall length for each bullet design/weight. That guarantees proper shank
depth in the neck. It also ensures design bullet shape/throat engagement clearances.
The related powder loads are tested using those dimensions.
