Take it FWIW, but I left a couple mags loaded for 6 months on my last deployment. When it came time for ammo turn in, there wasn't much in the way of spring tension on the rounds.
These were USGI mags obviously, and not DPMS LR308 mags, but something to think about. How long can you compress a spring before it loses its tension?
