Yes, it really is kind of odd, isn't it?
I took the folding bayonet off of the SKS that I keep as a car gun not out of political correctness (THAT would be why I put the bayonet on!
), but rather because I could see some feather-legged attempt to construe the rifle with a bayonet on it as a "spear" or "sword". Amusingly, here in TX, there is absolutely no provision against unlicensed cary of legal longarms, but there is a provision against "clubs" (see above.).
Makes you wonder what would happen if you used your rifle to buttstroke?
